Frequently Asked Questions (under construction)

If you do have questions please contact the office and we will get back to you as soon as we can.

Can I get married in one of your churches?

A simple question, but the answer can get a little complicated. Each couple will have different circumstances and different needs, so we answer this question based on the situation of each couple. When you meet with our clergy team we will explore your story and ensure that we are the right place to meet your needs.

What support do you provide for our preparation?

After your initial conversation with a member of our clergy team, your next fixed point will be our marriage preparation days. The first is a Sunday in late February: we will worship together at one of the benefice services, and after a meal, talk through all you need to know for your wedding day.

The second day is a Saturday in early March. This day is all about being prepared for marriage, and whatever stage your relationship is at, there will be opportunity to reflect and build together. This will also be the day in which all of your identifying documentation will be checked.

Both of these days are mandatory, please talk to us as soon as possible if they present a problem. Previous reasons for dispensation include circumstances such as an overseas deployment with the armed forces.

How much does it cost?

Many of the fees are set by the Church of England centrally. and change each year. A full break down for our fees can be found here
